“It is the passionate commitment to music of parents which, more often than not, encourages and sustains their children to develop their music making skills. This means not only finding the resources to meet the cost of tuition but also the purchase of an instrument.
As the ability to play improves, the necessity of acquiring a high quality instrument grows. The Music Instrument Fund of Ireland aims to assist young talent as it blossoms by making suitable instruments available where otherwise this would not be possible. It is a generous and worthy objective which I hope will meet with the success it deserves."
